When you genuinely care about someone you give him or her the power to bring out both the best and worst in you. In reality, you have to love yourself enough to notice the signs that lead up to this power shift and gain enough self-control to keep this power to a minimum. Be sure the people you invest yourself in prove that they're worthy and mature enough to handle and care for you properly. Often times in life we rush or mistakenly give the wrong people too much power then question why we go through some of the moods and emotions we go. So the real question is who has your joy?
Psalm 28:7 says “The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him.” This passage explains the results of investing yourself in a relationship with God. When you invest yourself in a relationship with God he will not only protect you but also give you the strength to protect yourself. Remember that Matthew 6:33 says “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” It means to make God the standard for your life put him first and watch as everything else falls into place. When you invest in God you allow him to become the center and joy of your life.
Matthew 6:24 says “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” This means focus on & trust in God. As your issues come he'd handle them and see you through. So, I'd like to end this by asking you where have you invested your joy?
